G HOUSE Guatemala

Located on a slope filled with pine trees, this villa is tugged in natural habitat of a lush green environment. It is designed as a private residence for a young family overlooking the pine forest.

As the pine forest is a big feature to the house, we want to create framing of the forests which results in a framed live artwork for the house, while supporting the openness of the house to the outside.

The tropicality of the project is achieved by using local and natural materials throughout the house, wooden ceilings and screens, naturally coloured cement walls, and local sand or lime stones are integrated into the design, making it respecting the locality of Guatemala’s environment and local resources.
